Aesthetics and COVID-19: What You Should Know

In March 2020, the world as we knew it came to a screeching halt because of the coronavirus pandemic. For many, that has meant postponing scheduled aesthetic treatments and elective procedures.

As the country begins to take steps toward reopening businesses and resuming daily routines, does that mean you can reschedule your aesthetic treatments? Is it safe to get Botox® injections, dermal fillers, or laser hair removal? Should you put off your next microneedling appointment?

Here at A Body Renaissance in Santaquin, Utah, Jennifer Trinidad, DNP, our experienced nurse practitioner puts safety first when it comes to herself and her clients. Here’s what you need to know about aesthetics and COVID-19.

Observing safety measures

Directives regarding wearing masks, washing your hands, and practicing social distancing were put in place in Utah and throughout the country to help keep people safe. We took precautions at our practice to protect your safety, too, and stopped taking aesthetic appointments.

As people begin to ease back into daily routines, it’s still important to continue to exercise caution to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and risk infection. It’s a common practice for medical aesthetics professionals to wear masks when we’re working very closely on your skin, such as when we inject Botox or fillers, or perform other anti-aging treatments. We want to ensure your safety and protect everyone from exposure to germs.

Of course, we will continue to provide our aesthetic services in a sanitary environment and are taking extra precautions to sanitize the office and treatment rooms and minimize contact with others.

Aesthetic treatments are nonessential

While you may not agree with how essential those treatments are, your overall health and well-being are more important than your appearance during the pandemic shelter-at-home orders. However, we totally understand your frustration with not being able to maintain your anti-aging regimen and routine appointments.

While aesthetic treatments are considered nonessential health services, we know that allowing your appearance to reflect how you feel on the inside is an important ingredient in helping you maintain your emotional well-being, especially now.

We are happy to answer your questions, and we’ll be glad to schedule your next — or first — appointment as soon as possible while maintaining our safety protocols and complying with state directives. We’re all in this together, and we fully intend to adjust to this new normal while still offering all of our aesthetic services and maintaining the high standards you’ve come to rely on for your own personal wellness goals.

At the end of the day, we have to work together to stay safe and continue to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Your well-being is our top priority, and we look forward to seeing you here in our office again soon!
